At Mount Lawley Physiotherapy & Podiatry, we’re committed to providing our patients with modern, evidence-informed treatment options.
We’re excited to offer Class 4 Laser Therapy, an innovative, non-invasive treatment that may help reduce pain, manage inflammation and support recovery from a range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Our high-powered therapeutic laser can be incorporated into physiotherapy and podiatry treatment plans to complement your rehabilitation and help you get back to doing what you love.
Class 4 Laser Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissues in the body.
This process, known as photobiomodulation, aims to influence cellular activity involved in pain modulation and tissue recovery.
Unlike surgical lasers, therapeutic laser treatment does not involve cutting or damaging tissue.
Our clinic uses the Nu-Tek LS220 Class 4 Laser, which delivers therapeutic light using multiple wavelengths (810 nm, 980 nm and 1064 nm).
Research suggests that Class 4 Laser Therapy may offer several benefits for suitable patients, including:
May help reduce discomfort associated with certain acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
May help manage inflammatory symptoms associated with some injuries and conditions.
Reducing pain may make movement and rehabilitation exercises more comfortable.
May complement the body’s natural recovery processes following certain injuries.
Does not involve injections or surgery.
Treatment can often be incorporated into an existing physiotherapy or podiatry appointment.
Results vary depending on the condition, individual circumstances and treatment plan.
Class 4 Laser Therapy may be considered as part of a treatment plan for a range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Not every condition or injury is suitable for laser therapy.
Our practitioners will assess your individual presentation and determine whether laser treatment may be a beneficial addition to your care.
Class 4 Laser Therapy is a straightforward treatment performed by a trained practitioner.
During your appointment:
Treatment duration and the number of sessions required vary depending on your condition and response.
Class 4 Laser Therapy can be delivered safely when appropriate precautions and treatment protocols are followed.
Before treatment, your practitioner will review your medical history, medications and any relevant precautions.
Because Class 4 lasers are high-powered devices, protective eyewear and careful treatment techniques are essential.
Laser therapy may not be appropriate for everyone, and your practitioner will discuss any relevant risks or contraindications before proceeding.
At Mount Lawley Physiotherapy & Podiatry, we believe in treating the underlying factors contributing to your pain rather than simply focusing on symptoms.
Class 4 Laser Therapy may be used alongside:
Our goal is to provide a comprehensive, personalised approach to help you move more comfortably and return to your usual activities.
