Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage is a gentle yet powerful form of bodywork that is intended to stimulate and encourage the natural movement of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back towards the heart. This type of massage is performed without any oils or lotions.

It is a technique based on soft pressure, rhythmic and constant movements that mimic the rhythm of the body’s lymphatic system which itself has no pumps. This is usually activated by walking, swimming, running and any non-static activity.

A working lymphatic system is essential to regenerate tissues, drain fluids, filter out foreign substances and toxins, detoxify, and maintain a healthy immune system.

By laying down on the bed, sitting for a prolonged time, driving long distances… these activities slow down our Lymphatic System causing swelling and fatigue (especially on legs).

Although Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is beneficial to a number of conditions, it is not for everybody.
